I won't forget either. I have a dear friend who is an NYC paramedic and I flew out there the November after it happened to try to help him through the depression he experienced. I stood at ground zero and watched the smoke rise. That will always haunt me.

What Tracy did not say, is that the tragedy was closer to home than she has let on.
Tracy lost a very close high school friend in the attack, her sister used to work in the towers but moved to one of the near-by buildings (which was also damaged) prior to the attack and that in 1999 I was in the process of being offered a position with Morgan Stanley, working part time in Tower 2, when we opted for a position and more suburban life in Michigan.
No six degrees of separation here… for Tracy, it was one degree….
We/she will never forget!
